Corregidor Island, Philippines April 23, 2023 Corregidor is an island situated at the mouth of Manila Bay in the southwestern part of Luzon in the Philippines and is considered as part of the province of Cavite contrary to the Map as it is very near and neighboring Bataan peninsula. During the Spanish Colonial times, the island was used to home prisons or a penal institution, from the name itself " Corregidor " comes from the Spanish word " Corregir " in English translation for " Magistrate " or literally " To correct ". It became Isla Del Corregidor which literally means, Corregidor's Island.
